How did this patient hear about Jupiter? Mrs. Bismore is a returning patient, and she initially heard about us through a friend of hers that had received therapy. He had the most beautiful things to say about our facility, and she couldn’t agree more.

Mrs. Mary Bismore, an 80-year-old female, was admitted to Jupiter Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center on October 1st, 2021, after a brief stay at JFK Medical Center for an upper gastrointestinal bleed. When Mary arrived, she needed moderate assistance for all activities of daily living and her mobility, and she was able to walk five feet with a rolling walker.
This wasn’t the first time Mary had been with us at Jupiter, she had come to us, initially, on a referral from a previous patient and her friend. Her experience with Jupiter Rehab was so positive and wonderful that she decided to return to us once again. She knew she would receive the care and therapy she required to be able to return home with strength before the holiday season.
Mary resides with her twin sister, Margaret (Peggy), and the two have been inseparable since her husband passed away years ago. To no one’s surprise, these two ladies have a deep bond, like most twin siblings, and even cause some confusion to staff when Peggy comes to visit. When asked if there was one wish we could grant for her… Mary’s response was, “That my sister lives a long time.” They truly rely on one another, and that’s what Mary missed the most about home.
Mary is also looking forward to getting home to her hobbies of reading and word finds. She is 15 years sober, and these things help pass the time and “keep her out of trouble,” as she says. After many weeks of physical therapy and occupational therapy, Mrs. Bismore was discharged home with her twin sister. She was able to leave, only needing supervision for all activities of daily living. She was able to walk over 100 feet with her rolling walker.
We miss having Mary here with us but are glad that she is back home, reunited with her sister and close friends!
