How did this patient hear about Jupiter? Mrs. Byrnes is a returning patient. She initially heard about us from a friend and the hospital where she had surgery. She had been told our therapy department was one of the best, and that’s why she chose us!

Details of experience:

Mrs. Suzanne Byrnes is an 80-year-old female patient who came to Jupiter Rehabilitation on December 8th, 2021, from Jupiter Medical Center, after an elective right hip arthroplasty on December 6th, 2021. Suzanne chose to have surgery because of increasing pain in her right hip, affecting her ability to walk normally and safely. While in the hospital, she was diagnosed with end-stage osteoarthritis. Mrs. Byrnes lives alone in a one-story home but does have 14 steps to reach her apartment.
Mrs. Suzanne Byrnes was a returning patient of Jupiter Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, she had come to us previously from surgery on her left hip. She told me the first day she was here that she didn’t have to come to a facility for rehab, but our team did such a great job the first time that she had no doubt in her mind that she wanted to come back, so she would be confident that she would be returning home safely.

Once again, our therapy department did not disappoint! She said that her therapy was exceptional, and the therapists care about their patients and help them accelerate and get back home to their normal lives. A couple of other things that helped her have a positive stay were the food and especially her housekeeper, Raquel, she raved on and on about the job she had done day in and day out! After demonstrating safely in therapy that she could climb the steps without assistance, Suzanne was discharged home after 22 days at Jupiter Rehab on December 30th, 2021.

When asked what she will miss the most about our community, Suzanne said she would miss the companionship of having a roommate and staff stopping in to visit with her. However, she is looking forward to being home and having the freedom to walk around as she pleases and even going for a walk on the beach. Suzanne is such a positive and bright light; you could always count on her to put a smile on your face.

She will be dearly missed by us all at Jupiter Rehab.
